Fife Trusted Trader is the only official Trading Standards vetted trader scheme in Fife. The scheme is backed by Fife Council and supported by Police Scotland.

Trading Standards Trusted Traders have been fully vetted by Trading Standards and have agreed to adhere to our code of practice. This includes a commitment to trade fairly, within the requirements of the law and meet the high standards as required by the scheme. Trusted Trader is designed to:

• increase consumer confidence
• protect citizens from doorstep crime
• promote and support good business practice

All traders are required to generate customer reviews during their membership giving consumers a means to make a judgement based on other people’s feedback. That feedback is published on an online database by our partners at Trusted Trader. 

Before employing a trader to work in your home, you can search online for a local Trusted Trader (takes you to an external website) and check the feedback from their previous customers. This can help you to select the right trader for your needs.

The scheme is aimed at the home improvement trades, other household related services and the motor trade.
